Yes - when operated by trained drone pilots following strict safety protocols, drones flight shows are a safe and reliable form of entertainment. Alliance members are committed to using geofencing, redundant system, and FAA-compliant procedures to ensure drones stay within secure flight paths and away from sensitive areas.
All drone light shows must comply with FAA regulations, including special Part 107 certifications, airspace authorizations, and night operation waivers. Alliance members also follow additional internal safety protocols to exceed baseline regulatory requirements and promote industry-wide best practices.
Alliance members are committed to ongoing education and training. Operators are required by law to hold special FAA Part 107 licenses, but our members undergo additional instructions for drone swarm flights, emergency protocols, and show-specific safety planning to ensure consistent, responsible operations.
With many manufacturers and operators in the industry, unified safety standards ensure everyone is held to the same high level of responsibility. By aligning on best practices, the industry can reduce risk, protect the public, and build trust with regulators, cities, and event partners.
